The Starting point of kudremukh trek
The Kudremukh trek is started from a forest of a small village area which is Mullodi hill. It is located at 96 kilometres in the district of Chikmagalur. It is just 10 kilometres away from the Kalasa. If you want to start the journey early in the morning then you can complete it within one night. The whole journey is around 335 kilometres from Bangalore to reach your destination.
Kudremukh means horse face in the local area Kannada language. This name comes from the mountain structure in a peculiar shape. The Kudremukh trek includes a dense forest of green slopes with waterfalls flowing at every corner. This trekking hill is the third highest peak of Karnataka from Bangalore.

In a day only 50 participants can be allowed in the hills to trek. If you are unable to get permission for Kudremukh trekking then you can try to do the trek on the next day or you can arrange another amazing trek like Kurinjal or Bavikonda from the same location.
Start your journey from Bangalore
Day 1:
The base camp Reach Balgal and take a
Jeep ride to Mullodi hills homestay. Afterwards you can start the Kudremukh trek to reach the top. Then back to homestay and endly a campfire which rejuvenates your energy.
Day 2:
Just start your journey from homestay and then visit the waterfalls in Kudremukh trek. At last back to your starting point, Bangalore.
Departure from Bangalore:
You can take a step forward from Bangalore. This trekking journey would be a medium term trip to Kudremukh.
Kudremukh Trek:
Kalasa is the closest place to go to Kudremukh trek. In this path you have gone through Hassan road to Belur to Kalasa town from Balgal. Normally the Balgal is a small spot at the base of Mullodi hills. You can take a jeep ride from Balgal to homestay in Mullodi hills which is around 6 kilometres from the base Balgal.
When you are on the spot of base camp, homestay gives you a beautiful panoramic view of the Kudremukh peaks. This awesome trek, you can feel the cold breeze of the Mullodi hills.
After finishing your short routine you can leave on your journey to Kudremukh trekking spot. Over there are 8 to 9 waterfalls and 3 to 4 wilderness with a few pinnacles.
When you are in Kudremukh trekking you don’t need to carry extra water bottles because there are several waterfalls in between the trails.
When you are close to nature you can listen to the flow of waterfalls, birds fluttering, and the coldness of this area. The mountains over there are noticeable during this trek.
At last it’s time to return back to Bangalore.

Necessary things to carry:
Xerox Copy of your aadhar or voter ID, water Bottles maximum 2, raincoat if in case it rains, torch with extra batteries, trekking shoes with good traction on it, one cover sheet, a cap, and obviously a camera to capture your best memories.Make sure before starting a tour to note down your proper planning schedule. In this area you may feel cool so pack some warm clothes during this trip. Always carry a first aid kit box for emergency purposes.
